BuKalanga Gathering UK is a unifying movement that celebrates our heritage, strengthens identity, and empowers communities in Zimbabwe through culture, business, and shared vision.
The Gathering aims to expand its sphere of influence
to other Kalanga related Districts like Tsholotsholo
and Matobo Districts in terms of infrastructure
developments and other ‘giving back to the community’
initiatives.
As the Kalanga saying goes, “Bukamu igaswa
gohhadzisiwa nemadlo!”, the event highlights
traditional BuKalanga dishes like: mxhanxa, tjimoni,
mahonja, manyadzigwa, and mahwe.
Our vision is: To promote and advocate with a unified voice to the wider community about the vibrant and diverse arts and culture of Bakalanga and the thriving Tjikalanga language.
The funds and resources raised on the event day and of those donated by our partners and individuals throughout the year are used for the advancement of our main projects.
The basic medicines which they request are donated to us by individuals and medical or non-medical companies, while the healthcare goods we receive come from GP Practices and other healthcare professionals as well as private.
Each hospital receives consignments of aid every year which typically includes antibiotics, painkillers, medicines to treat hypertension and diabetes, small surgical items, antibacterial products, surgical kits, obstetric delivery packs, etc.
Every hospital supported by BuKalanga Gathering has undergone a detailed process of assessment before becoming one of our supported projects and is visited by our staff as part of our yearly monitoring and evaluation
Your support helps us deliver vital medical aid to hospitals in Plumtree, Brunapeg, and Kezi — improving lives and strengthening healthcare in BuKalanga communities.
